Painted Fire Literary Agency

We are a ground-breaking literary agency that represents fiction writers of multiple genres. Working with a team of consulting partners in media, marketing, performance, and sales, our agency ensures our writers have all of the tools they need to achieve full success with their brands and careers.

What We're Looking For

“In one word, what defines fantastic fiction narrative? Consequences. Consequences give structure. And stories with cohesive and creative structures, true to each writer’s background and voice, stand the test of time beyond the trendy topics and gimmicks of the day. I especially love psychologically complex characters. I’m looking for distinctive and compassionate voices who are telling organically unexpected stories in a wide variety of styles and genres. Surprise me."

At the top of my wishlist right now: I have a soft spot for smart and elevated romcoms. I'm especially excited by upmarket and genre-defying works across categories, including but not limited to SF/fantasy, mystery/suspense/thriller, paranormal, historical fiction, cross-cultural, and contemporary general fiction. I also love literary fiction, and am most drawn to projects with timely thematics and precisely-drawn characters.
